A Few Tips On Choosing The Right Diet Plan For Weight Loss

Are you looking to lose weight in a healthy and natural way? Are you flooded with fitness and diet plans from experts, friends and even from people who know nothing about losing weight? It does get quite frustrating at times when you keep getting unsolicited advice from almost everyone about weight loss, does not it? This is why it is important for you to know the right approach to losing weight. Some people work out for long hours at the gym but still do not knock off those extra kilos from their body. Ever wondered why? It is because they do not follow a proper diet plan. Being cautious about the food that you eat and avoiding fatty or oily food is just not enough anymore. You need to follow an accurate timetable, eat in small quantities at regular intervals and know your timings. How do you choose the right diet plan? Here are few tips that can help you in this regard.

1. Depending or supporting attitude

Do you always to lookup to others for support regarding suggestions to knock off those extra kilos? Do you work out together in a group so that you get inspired by the others and then perform better in your weight management programs? If yes, you need to choose a diet plan that has been tried and tested by celebrities. This gives you the assurance that it works and you always examples to draw inspirations from. The only thing that you need to remember is to follow these plans along with a group of friends so that you can constantly monitor each other and know where you to stand.

2. Snack lovers

Some people can not resist their temptation towards chocolates, ice creams and other oily snacks. If you belong to this type, the best diet plan for you would be to include a lot of fiber-rich fruits and vegetables and whole grains. The other important point that you need to remember is to keep all those evil delicacies at a faraway place so that you do not have easy access to them as and when you want to eat them. When you have a craving to eat some crispy or oily snack, you can take the help of chewing gum or peppermint, as they divert your mind away from binge eating, to a great extent.

There is no such plan that you need to follow strictly to bring the desired weight loss in you. Never allow the process to dominate your thinking and affect your personality. Weight loss should never be a stressful procedure. If it becomes stressful, you will not be able to achieve the desired results. If you want to be successful in your objective, you should know your strengths and weaknesses and then decide on a diet plan accordingly.

The Internet, self-help books, celebrities and a host of other sources may try to give you various perspectives and ideas about shedding off the extra flab in your body. However, it is important to understand that each one's individual body and mental condition is different. What works for a celebrity need not work for you. Understand your individuality and choose the right plan so that you enjoy losing your weight. If you want to be sure about your plan, consult with your medical expert as well if the foods that you have finalized in your plan are suitable for your health. This way, you can be sure of eating the right foods at the right time. The budget also plays an important role when you decide the food items in your plan. You need to be judicious and choose only those food items that fall under your affordability levels so that you do not strain yourself too much in this process.

Is Isagenix The Best Weight Loss Program?

What Is Isagenix?

Isagenix is a supplement company that markets weight-loss products / programs. These products include meal replacement shakes, detox formulas and energy boosters. According to company information, there are no laxatives in any cleanse / detox formulas. This is a good because some laxatives can cause negative side effects. Some ingredients in Isagenix products have impressive clinical support, which is extremely desirable when researching weight loss solutions.

Isagenix was introduced to the market around 2002. Most ingredients appear to be all natural ingredients, which is good but it does not always mean that they are free for any negative potential side effects. Isagenix products can be purchased by phone, online, or from independent distributors. The company has been in business for over 13 years, and has a good BBB rating.

What Does Isagenix Cost?

Make no mistake. Isagenix products are expensive. Although some may say, “You can not put a price tag on weight-loss”, there may be a problem with a company that charges two or three times more than most. For example, you can purchase the 30-day weight- loss program for around $ 350. Although we must keep in mind that what may be a high cost to some may not expensive to another, according to several Isagenix reviews.

Some Buyers Say – “Not Good”

In several Isagenix reviews, customers complained about taste, cost, side effects and a cost of other issues. One dieter said, “All of this stuff tastes nasty.

Another claimed, “I did not like it. It made me feel nasty.

There were also positive reviews of Isagenix.

One user said, “It just becomes a way of life … a healthy way of life.”

While another said, “I have had success with weight loss and feeling better with these products.”

Scientific Evidence?

Isagenix has very strong marketing materials. But as for science, there's not much to speak of on the official website. However, if you do a search of peer-reviewed journals, you'll find that meal replacements, especially those that are high in protein and fiber can be used to effectively curve the appetite by slowing down digestion. Isagenix products do contain whey, but the formula does not seem to be does not appear to be enriched with fiber. However, the supplements in the line have green tea extract and cayenne. Both these ingredients have proven to be effective in facilitating weight loss through increased metabolism.

Does Isagenix Work?

Although the Isagenix company has a more than 12 year history behind and a supporting customer service department, the company does not share to share clinical research, although extensive research exists including animal and human trials. There are plenty of studies available for ingredients like whey protein and green tea extract. With that being said, just because there is strong customer support, doesagen mean isagenix products are stronger or better than the competition. That's one place the business failed to sell me.

When the time comes for you to shed those extra pounds, I suggest a supplement with a formula consisting of clinically tested ingredients, that are supported by plenty of strong customer reviews which is backed by a company that goes out of it's way to present all of the facts.

Despite the lack of clinical presentation, there is still a lot to like about Isagenix's IsaLean shakes. They contain a lot of protein (which is important for building muscle), they curb hunger for a substantial amount of time, according to their customers, and have a thicker consistency and sweeter flavor than some other similar products.

My biggest issue with Isagenix product I have not mentioned as of yet. Weight loss supplements are meant to be just that, supplemental. By definition, something that completes or enhances something else when added to it. Every person that I have met on the Isagenix program was substituting two meals with a drink or shake. In my opinion, this is unhealthy. The basis of a healthy weight loss is eating healthy food. I believe a program that advocates substituting more than one meal a day is unhealthy.

Type 2 Diabetes and Weight Loss – Mini Fast Your Way to Lower Blood Sugar

You are likely interested in more than just weight loss. It is a safe bet to say you would like to improve your health as well. Who does not? The difference between people is the strength of their intent. We would all welcome better health – but how many of us are willing to work hard for it? You may also be interested in lowering your blood sugar levels. It is a common concern for many middle-aged adults, and increasingly young adults and teenagers. Parents, despite with the best intentions, may not be providing healthy nutritional guidance to their children. Children then develop poor dietary habits that are hard to change, and this causes them to be vulnerable to high blood sugar and obesity-related conditions as they age.

No matter your background or your particular situation, you are unduly interested in weight loss. If you also happen to have raised blood sugar, then consider the following advice, the sort that would prove useful on multiple fronts …

Mini-fasts for managing your Type 2 diabetes and weight loss success. You are familiar with fast, which is when you do not eat anything for an extended period.

How about mini-fasting? Like the usual kind, no rule determines the length a “mini-fast” should be. It could range from a few hours to several. More importantly, it only needs to be useful but also needs to work for you …

  • if it is too short, then it can not be considered a fast as much as a break in between meals.
  • if it is too long, then you are getting into the territory of an actual fast, which may be unnecessary, not to mention unsuitable for you.

If you have ever gone more than 16 hours without eating, you know how challenging it can be. Although, to be fair, the hunger pangs come and go.

Mini-fasts through the day, however, sleeping somewhere between 6 to 10 hours, can be surprisingly useful and manageable without too much difficulty. It is quite simple …

  • you eat breakfast or lunch and do not eat anything else until dinner.
  • or you have an early dinner, and skip breakfast the next day, although this is technically a longer fast, it may not feel like it. Sleep can be used as a tool sometimes.

If you have not tried an eating routine like this before, the results may astound you. A few weeks of following this routine is enough to help you shed unneeded weight and reduce your blood sugar. The latter especially, since not eating so regularly gives your body's insulin some reprieve, which helps increase its sensitivity.

As long as you do not overcompensate for the time you were not eating when you finally sit down for a meal; you will make progress. In truth, it is hard to overeat if you are eating healthy meals. It also helps to eat slowly and drink a glass of water while eating your food.

Give mini-fasts a try …

You need to be equipped with knowledge so that you maximize the advantage of the two formulas. Otherwise, it will be hard to lose weight without setting the two formulas as the holy grail to lose weight fast at home.

When you are at home, you need to train with maximum intensity. Forget about traditional way of running on treadmill or doing slow jog. Truth is, they burn only a small amount of fat. That's why it is very important to train with the right exercises in the shortest time possible to switch on the fat burning hormone on automation. What does it means? It simply means to burn fat even in your sleep. You need to focus on exercises that trigger the larger group of muscle such as the chest, back and leg. By training exercises that target those big muscle group, you will burn more fat. That's when the intensity comes in. Train for at most 25 minutes a day, and increase the intensity in that 25 minutes by doing more repetitions and sets. A final note on training: maximum intensity means doing it at a fast pace, not slow pace.

When it comes to losing weight fast at home, there's a fact that you need to know:

-> 80% is in the kitchen, 20% on the exercise.

Prepare food that is less greasy and oily to lose weight fast. Ultimately, you will want to consume more vegetables and proteins. Here is a good indication of how much is the portion for each meal. A fist size of carbohydrates, vegetables and proteins respectively. This is for one meal. Strive to eat 5 meals a day when it comes to losing weight. Instead of having a big portion 3 times a day, break down it to 5 meals a day, each with a smaller portion. It is because when the food is consumed at a large portion at one go, the body can not process that much of food nutrients and will end up store as fat. That's the last thing you want to do when it comes to lose weight fast at home.

Guggul – For Natural and Effective Weight Loss

The modern world is an open source which provides us with a lot of comfort and leisure. Although these current advances have made our lives easier, the sedentary lifestyle has made us prone to a lot of diseases, the most common being obesity. The most common causes of weight gain are lack of physical activities and unhealthy eating patterns. Obesity immensely increases the risk of developing many chronic diseases such as heart and respiratory diseases and diabetes, later in life.

It is easy to prevent obesity by adopting a certain lifestyle. According to the Ayurveda, weight loss is a slow process involving occasional nausea, a nutritious diet, and medicinal herbs like Guggul. Guggul or commiphora wighti is a small shrub native to the semi-arid parts of northern India. When it comes to weight loss, guggul is so thought after that it has now been classified as an endangered plant species.

Obtained from sap of the tree, the gum resin, guggul has been a very prominent part of the Ayurveda and has been in use from the last 2,000 years, helping with weight loss and diseases related to obesity like diabetes and hyperlipidemia.

Various studies through the world demonstrate how shuddha guggul helps in potential weight reduction. According to the reports, Guggul brings the formation of new fat cells, effectively kills the old ones and helps breaking down the fat cells, thereby preventing them from accumulating. Also, its heating and post-digestive effects collectively eliminate fat and improve metabolism within adipose tissue. All these processes collectively lead to weight loss.

The resin extract of Guggul contains a plant steroid called guggulsterone. Guggulsterone contains certain lipid lowering properties, thereby enabling weight management. Guggul has traditionally been used to manage cholesterol levels and is backed by scientific reports. Guggulsterone does not facilitate the synthesis of cholesterol and helps in converting cholesterol into bile acid and excreting the excess through feces.

Stimulating the thyroid is another of guggul's trait which helps in the reduction of body fat. Guggul is responsible for producing 2 thyroid hormones namely, T3 (triiodothyronine) and T4 (thyroxine). These hormones are thermogenic in nature, ie producing heat and facilitating the burning of stored fat. Beside, they are also responsible for speeding up the process of protein synthesis and carbohydrate metabolism.

Apart from weight loss, guggul has other benefits as well. It rejuvenates and detoxifies the body, helps in purifying blood, reduces joint pain, and improves metabolism and immune system.

Control Your Weight and Insulin With Antioxidants

In the 1950's Denham Harman provided the free radical theory of aging right and over the years it has also been found that free radicals are a foundation of a number of diseases like atherosclerosis and cancer. They causes inflammation in the body and degeneration and disease follows. Obesity is one result. Inflammation is also involved in Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis and Alzheimer's as well as many other diseases.

Free radicals are molecules that react with oxygen and help in forming oxygen. They play a part in the signals cells send to each other and environmental stress affects them because cells get damaged and there are fewer cells. This leads to what may be called oxidative stress. This also happens when you are exposed to cigarettes, stress, chemicals, alcohol, pollution, high-fat foods, the ozone, food additives and during physical exercise.

Normally cells and antioxidants in the body such as glutathione defend against this but when the levels get too high the antioxidants we make in our body are not enough to destroy the bad molecules and the DNA, RNA and protein can damage so we age faster.

Insulin resistance happens when cells become less sensitive to insulin and then sugar is unable to enter the cells. The body ignores the message insulin is trying to send it and needs to make higher and higher amounts of insulin. The sugar builds up in the blood to a high, destructive level. There is now scientific proof that insulin resistance is behind a lot of illnesses which means that our level of anti-oxidants in our body needs to be kept high to avoid oxidative stress.

Mainstream medicine is finally beginning to recognize this link of insulin resistance. Current research only goes to prove this link between insulin resistance and other diseases changing even to cognitive decline, various cancers, depression and maybe even breast and colon cancer.

Most importantly infection is also thought to be the underlying reason for putting on weight and obesity. Inflammation could be a foundation for post-menopausal breast cancer, cancers of the endometrium, colon and kidney, and malignant adenomas of the oesophagus. Many of the latest studies show that free radicals are behind all this.

The most powerful antioxidants improve inflammation and insulin sensitivity. N-acetyl cysteine has been shown to prevent fructose-induced insulin resistance in rats and the turmeric part Curcumin also is an agent to improve insulin sensitivity. EGCG is also a well-researched antioxidant part in animal studies as is green tea for obesity and diabetes although it does not affect in this study the blood glucose levels. Bilberry has been known to improve the function of fat cells which also affect insulin resistance. Grape seed and Rosemary also help in raising anti-oxidant levels.

A two-step approach using antioxidants and blood-sugar-maintaining nutrients is needed to help improve your health. The body tend to become less sensitive to the effects of insulin as we get older so this becomes important. Add to this over-eating that increments blood sugar, too many carbohydrates – white bread, pasta, pizza etc and it means we need some antioxidants to help restore the insulin balance.

So antioxidants are important in helping the body prevent major illnesses, regulating the insulin and therefore help with weight loss. It is never too late to start looking after your health and it is important to see a qualified practitioner to design a program to suit you.

How to Use an Electric Bike for Weight Loss

It seems that with the rise of a progressive and industrialized nation, it is a more sedentary life of its citizens. What with all the gadgets, machines, instruments, tools and equipment that science and technology has brought to mankind making their work easier. Then with this sedentary lifestyle comes health issues and the number one concern is obesity and its complications such as hypertension and diabetes.

However, the increasing awareness of the health risks of a sedentary life has convinced more people to get into a more active lifestyle such as an exercise program or routine to stay fit and healthy.

One of the best exercises is cycling. It is a low impact exercise that does not put too much strain on the joints and muscles. Riding a bicycle outdoors is an excellent cardiovascular workout that burns calories and lowers cholesterol levels, which helps prevent heart diseases, hypertension, diabetes, and other diseases. Cycling is also a good exercise to release stress.

However, there are those who would like to go cycling but could not do the rigid strenuous ride. Others do not have the confidence to ride a bike uphill or go for long rides because they fear they might tire easily and would not have the strength to go back. In such cases, the electric bike is highly recommended.

Most people think that an electric bike is a cheat to exercise because there is the motor engine to power the bike. Also, it is the common notification that one does not lose weight in riding an electric bike. In other words, an electric bike is not an exercise machine.

Contrary to popular belief, electric bikes can help a rider lose calories as effectively as a conventional bike. Although it is true that an hour on a regular bike burns more calories than an hour on an electric bike, the reality is that an average cyclist will not likely ride a regular bike as frequent as an electric bike.

Since the electric bike is easier to use than the conventional bike, it can be used frequently if as a form of aerobic exercise or as a means of serious transportation. The key to burning the calories is to continue pedaling since the rider has to pedal the bike to keep the motor running. While using it as a transportation to work or to the grocery, the rider can turn off the motor and pedal the bike instead. The more you ride the bike and pedal it, the more calories you burn.

One convenient trick I have always used is to keep comfortable healthy snacks with me! This way I never feel the urge to binge on unnecessary excess calories.

Family time

Always make sure that you have at least one meal of the day with your family that is not rushed. This promotes family bonding and let's be honest, when you are not rushed to get to your next appointment it is easier to have a healthy meal!

A family meal can be any meal of the day, not necessarily just dinner. Just be sure to be flexible with what time the meal starts as not everyone will have the same schedule every day!

Be prepared

In order to save time, cook ahead. Cook several meals in advance and keep them in the freezer until you need them! For example you can always cook pasta one night and have only a portion of it warm leaving the rest over for the next day as pasta salad.

Keep ingredients that make simple meals.

By keeping it simple when you do not have time, you will not have the urge to buy unhealthy junk food from a takeaway joint! Here are some ingredients that make simple meals:

Save time during meal preparations by keeping pre-cut fruit and veg in the fridge. Fresh fruit will always be the best option but, canned fruit will work just as well! Just make sure that the canned fruit is not the sugary syrup kind, and wash the fruit before you consume it in order to reduce the sodium content.

Significant Weight Loss – Real Talk For Losing 100 Pounds

Spending the past 30 years working in mental health, I often would take breaks to work in the weight loss industry. As we continue to see an epidemic in weight related issues, there are many things we can do to ensure optimal health and weight. But is it possible to lose significant weight without surgery? The answer is yes! But, when trying to lose significant weight, I encourage you to speak with your physician first. Significant weight will require a team effort. And, you're going to want all the support you can get during this process. Some will feel that you do not need the support. But please check with the doctor- it's just good science to do so.

So where does one start on the journey to healthy weight loss? In every weight loss center and every program that I worked in, all started with breakfast. We have all heard that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Not only is that true, but especially for weight loss. If we wait to eat when we're hungry, more often than not we're going to over eat. So I would recommend a breakfast packed with protein maxing around 400 calories. There are plenty on menus you can find online. Choose one that makes sense to you and be sure that you're going to enjoy what you're eating. If you resent it, you will not stick to it.

Is it important to keep a food journal? Yes and no. I'm not saying you will need to write everything down, but you will need to be honest with yourself. If you are new to weight loss, I would recommend keeping a journal. If you have been down this road before, its more important to be honest with yourself. You know your triggers. Have a plan to counter them.

What about meal replacement programs? Again having a lot of experience working with them, yes you will lose weight, but then what? If you are not cultivating healthy eating patterns, you may in some regards be setting yourself up for failure. I am not opposed nor in favor or them. My approach has been use them as a tool while you're developing those eating habits. In my experience almost every professional from doctors to nutritionist that I have worked alongside of embryas healthy eating habits as the cornerstone of a good weight loss program.

Sabotage by storage. Do not store junk food in the house under any circumstances. Studies show that we are more likely to forego the junk if it is not within our reach. Make this a priority. This again goes back to being honest. I have had clients tell me that they keep something sweet in the house for company. Do not do it. It's a trap. Be honest with yourself. Clean out the closet. It will pay big dividends.

And while weight loss begins in the kitchen, movement is vital to the process. Start slow. Again speak with your doctor before starting an exercise program. Then be clear of what the goal is … weight loss, heart health or prevention? When we talk of significant weight loss, it will be helpful to enlist the services of a professional. Having that accountability and support are critical in the early stages. Ask for help early and often.

What type of exercise is best? Depends on who you ask. That said, I like low impact low resistant movement. If you're just getting started I like the pool. Great for reduced swelling, pain reduction and increases circulation. It's also great in terms of burning calories. I like the pool because just like food, if you're not enjoying it, you're probably not going to stick with it. Think in terms of movement and not exercise.

The last thing I want to mention is the vision. Do not get caught up on losing pounds. Be more in tune with how you feel. In other words you may not lose weight, but it is easier climbing the stairs. You may not have lost weight, but your pants may feel lose now. Forget the pounds. Trust your energy and inches {lost}.

Significant weight is possible. It's not a sprint. It's a marathon. With good choices and the proper support team, you can achieve your goal. Remember that safe weight loss falls into a half to two pounds a week. Does not sound like much? Losing 2 pounds a week for a year gets you a 104 pounds. And that should be all the motivation you need.

5 Smart Weight Loss Shopping Tips

Have you ever gone grocery shopping when you were hungry? And let me guess you probably bought a ton of junk food that you really did not need in the first place! Do not worry even the best of the best have made that mistake before and the problem is that junk food and weight loss do not go together.

Here are a couple of tips for you if you wanted to go shopping with a weight loss goal in mind:

Be prepared

Make sure that you have a meal planner with you when you go shopping so that you know exactly what you are looking for. Purchase all your healthy staples first like fruit, veg, milk and your whole grains so that you do not 'accidentally' forget to pick them up later!

Make a list and check it twice

It's easy to think, “I will not worry with a list, ill just remember what I want to buy.” Only problem is that you end up buying everything, except what you actually needed. Make a list and make sure you have included all your healthy weight loss alternatives on it.

By making a list you will be more efficient and get through your shopping a lot quicker, which is something I like! You can use your weight loss menus as a guide and if you are really melancholy you can organize that list even further into the different sections of the store.

Be in the right place

Have you noticed, that almost anywhere you go, the stores are pretty much set up the same way? In most cases the fresh and healthy food is usually located at the edge of the store so that is where you want to spend most of your time. After all it is better to have freshly prepared meals because you know exactly what has gone into that meal, no hidden calories to worry about!

If you are hungry, stay at home

Try avoiding the shops when you are hungry as it is easier to buy calorie loaded junk food on impulse. This is how you set yourself up for success, if you do not have that bag of crisps in your cupboard, you will not eat them and therefore will not consume the calories! If you can not avoid going shopping on an empty stomach, drink some water or snack on a fresh fruit.

Read nutrition labels

It always astonishes me when I read the labels of these low-fat and fat-free foods, just how many calories they are actually packing! That's why it is vital to read all the nutrition labels of the food you buy so that you know exactly what you are buying. Also make sure you are comparing similar foods to each other so that you can be consuming the healthiest product.

Do not be afraid to treat yourself every now and then, if you have stuck to your weight loss program then it is OK to have that naughty treat once in a while, just do not go overboard! Always be prepared when you go shopping and constantly learn new dishes so that you always have something new and exciting to buy.

Why Are There 100 Million Brain Cells In Your Gut?

Some people like to trust their gut, when making decisions. Some get butterflies in the stomach when nervous, and the Australian saying “Do not get your guts in a knot” means do not get stressed.

All of the above are about feelings, but there is something going on in your gut that is 100% real. Among the billions of cells in your gut there are a very special 100 million or so.

These cells are essentially brain cells, but they do not live in your head, they are an important part of your gut. This is just another reason why we need to care for our entire digestion.

If you have used or know someone who has used an anti-depressant it is most likely a type that is known as a serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Its job is to spare the neurotransmitter serotonin in your brain.

This chemical helps us all to be calm and feel emotionally stable. The interesting thing is that 90% of the brain is manufactured in the gut. This means that in order to enjoy good emotional health we need to look after gut health.

I'm sure you have heard about good bacteria and bad bacteria. Good bacteria is damaged by anti-biotics, alcohol, stress, sugar and junk food for starter. This shifts the balance of health in your gut and leads to a problem called leaky gut.

But importantly in this tale of health is that your levels of serotonin will drop and so will your mood.

In the mental health field there is a lot of focus placed on medication but little or usually no attention given to gut health.

Now treating the gut to improve mood, may seem a bit weird in the world of psychiatry but I'm sure that already by now you are realizing that caring for the gut would be a no-brainer! And it is to a growing band of astute therapists, but in conservative circles, things stay the same, and in the words of Ronald Regan the “Status Quo” is Latin for “The mess we are in.”

It will take time to repair your gut but the good news is that it can be done if you stop eating sugar and all grains but especially wheat and to start re-populating the good bacteria with pro-biotics and feeding them with pre-biotics which are the fiber rich vegetables in particular.

The bad news is that if you do not care for your gut then it will not repair and you will suffer ill health for your whole life. The problem is that you may not notice, you will just get used to feeling sick, tired and in pain.

Is Plexus Slim The Best Weight Loss Program?

What is Plexus Slim?

Plexus Slim is a powdered drink mix of weight-loss ingredients that comes in a pack. You mix it in a glass or bottle of water. The ingredients include green coffee bean, garcinia cambogia and alpha lipoic acid.

Plexus Slim made its appearance in 2011. The official website carries the product. Products are available both online and via its independent distributors. Plexus Worldwide, the makers of Plexus Slim, and has a good BBB rating. The products have some good ingredients. However, there are a couple of concerns. According to the company website, you can drink it twice a day to help you lose weight faster. The packs make the product portable which is a good choice for active people.

Price – “Too High?”

The first thing I had to consider was Plexus Slim's price. Although the product has a couple of good weight loss ingredients the problem is you have to buy one or two packs a month and that could cost you more than $ 170. ”

One Plexus customer said, “This stuff is expensive. I can not believe you did not comment on the price of this product. It's $ 80 for two weeks if you drink two shakes a day … and another $ 30 a month if you want the accelerator. ”

“I have considered Plexus but it is too pricey for me. I would love options that are a fraction of the cost,” says one dieter.

It would be unfair to say that everyone dislikes the price because there are those who are not bothered by it. Some even like the price:

One Plexus consumer says, “As far as costs go, compared to others out there, Plexus is really affordable!”

One customer says, “I also am a proud ambassador for Plexus, I joined to save money.”

Does Plexus Have Enough Clinical Research?

I was slightly concerned by the limited amount of research supporting Plexus Slim. A representative of the company has stated, “Drugs need to have clinical trials,” but there is definitely. scientific support for a couple of the ingredients.

“When you take [a product] that has not been clinically tested, in addition to not knowing where the product is manufactured, there is a good chance you are going to feel [bad],” said a customer.

Even though the product has not been clinically tested, there is some positive support.

One customer said, “I've been on Plexus for about a month – no weight loss for me (some inches maybe) but I do feel better.” Inch loss without weight loss is a common with weight loss clients who are exercising.

Another customer says, “I have been using Plexus Slim for little almost 2 months, I take the drink and Accelerator and my energy level is up and my hunger is down …”

In my nearly five years experience marketing weight-loss supplements, I've found that any small negative, like high price or lack of support can keep the customer from staying on the program for the long haul. Plexus Slim's high price and lack of customer support may be problematic for the customer.

More On The Science

Some ingredients in Plexus Slim have been tested. The results of garcinia cambogia testing is split. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association , “Garcinia cambogia failed to produce significant weight loss and fat mass loss beyond that observed with placebo.” Green coffee bean, on the other hand, definitely has support for assisting in weight-loss. The journal Gastroenterology Research and Practice says, “It is concluded that the results from these trials are promising, but the studies are all of poor methodological quality.” Although alpha lipoic acid, has been proven to assist in weight loss when taken as 1800mg daily, Plexus Slim does not contain nearly this much.

Does It Work?

This is the most important question. Plexus Slim has a few good ingredients in the formula. There were plenty of positive comments. But what concerns me most are three things. First, the price may be either high for people to either initially start the product or to stay on it. Second, the results of research looks to be split, both for and against. Lastly, and this is no fault of the company, some of the people I have met who have been on Plexus Slim were using it as a meal replacement rather than as a supplement so they were starving themselves. When the body senses starvation, it does everything it can to hold on to fat rather than shed it. Also, those people were not getting the nutrition the needed.

Is Herbalife The Best Weight Loss Program?

What is Herbalife?

Herbalife is a supplement company with products for weight-loss and wellness. Their products may contain protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals and, in some cases, caffeine. They have a four-component “Quick Start” program: Formulas 1, 2 and 3 and Herbal Tea Concentrate. According to their website, you have to take them all to get the best results.

Herbalife has been around since 1980. You can order products from an independent distributor or online. The company has a positive BBB rating and longevity.

Herbalife is Expensive

The first thing that is guaranteed to get your attention about Herbalife shakes is the price. For decades, using meal-replacement shakes for weight loss has been a very effective method. But $ 92 to $ 95 each month for just the shakes is pretty steep considering that several other companies offer shakes plus additional supplements, in a kit, at the similar prices. Although I believe the price is fairly high, there are comments on both sides. Here are some of the negative comments:

“Whatever you do, do NOT try Herbalife. It will drain your bank account and you will gain weight,” says a customer.

Another one says, “It's an overpriced sugary weak protein powder.”

Likewise, here are some of the positive ones:

“They get everything done that the other more expensive ones do at less than half the price,” says a customer.

Still another says, “I have not lost any weight but it the energy it gives me is worth the low price.”

One customer did not mind the price, even though it was more than the competition, “Herbalife products are of high price but it works if you have a proper diet.”

“How Does It Taste?

There are hundreds of reviews complaining about the taste of Herbalife shakes. Some wave up after the first shake. “French Vanilla … not even close. This product tastes like chalk … Nothing makes it taste good,” said a customer.

One customer declared, “I do not like the taste, I can not even choke it down.” Another said, “This drink tastes like … liquid play-doh … It's really bad.”

But you could always find someone who liked the taste. A customer who liked Herbalife shakes said, “Taste pretty good.”

Still another said, “I love the flavor, I love the taste.”

Since the greatest common factor on in the success of diet / weight loss programs is the ability to stay on it, a less than palatable flavor could pose a problem.

Is The Science There?

You may be looking for science to substantiate weight-loss claims, but you will not get them from Herbalife. A prospective customer can not find the ingredients listed on the company website. Research should be a critical component in choosing a weight loss plan. If research is lacking, there may be a reason to be skeptical.

Does It Work?

What is my conclusion on Herbalife shakes and products? The company is more than 30 years and has good BBB rating. There may be reason to question why there is no research used to show that the supplements contribute to weight-loss. High price and poor taste are also reasons for concern.

Herbalife is a reputable company that has been providing weight loss and nutritional supplements for over 30 years. However, some of the long formulas are missing in active ingredients which would be the most effective way to lose weight. Any potential customer should research the Herbalife Side Effects and should be ready to pay Herbalife prices, which as I said before, are on the high side. Other options that contain more potent ingredients may provide a better choice.

How to Prevent Nasty Overtraining

It can be really annoying, you have religiously followed your diet and have not missed a session session in like, forever, and yet your fat loss has for some reason just stolen! Why could this be, when you have followed all the advice of the experts out there, and are still not seeing the weight loss results that you would like?

Let me give you a reason for this phenomenon in 1 word: over training. You see exercise for weight loss is a careful balance of both training and recovery. But I know what it is like, January comes around, you decide you are going to lose the weight once and for all, and go for it at 150%!

Here is the thing, you know that you are on a crazy weight loss goal, but does your body? No it does not, and says, “Wait a minute, we are taking some serious stress over here!” And needless to say, your body goes into a survival mode and starts storing fat, which is the total opposite of what you want out of your crazy exciting weight loss goal!

It's not always the case, but often a hang in weight loss is caused by over training, which can also cause a long-term decrease in performance. If you are training at high levels of intensity for long periods of time your chances of over training go through the roof!

Prevention is better than cure!

When it comes to the subject of over training, especially when you are experiencing the symptoms of it, it is really important to take preventive measures as soon as possible! Over training is a condition that grows worse with time so always be on the lookout the signs of it:

• Slower recovery after exercise

• Decreased appetite

• Decreased desire to exercise

• Increased resting heart rate

• Increased resting blood pressure

• Decreased sports performance

• Increased irritability and depression

You'll find that when you are busy with your exercise the point of exhaustion will come sooner and sooner despite the expectation of getting fitter over time. Also, because your body is in survival mode, you will find that your body shape does not change much even though you are training harder than ever!

What if you are already suffering from over training?

This may sound counter-intuitive, but the best cure for over training is to stop any sort of training for a week or two until your body recovers. When you do recover, start slowly and try keeping your workouts short, but intense and making sure to add regular rest days into your exercise routine!

At the end of the day the best thing that you can do is to just simply listen to your body, and if you are feeling tired or overwhelmed take some time to recover. It's more important to continue your weight loss in the long-term than push yourself into exhaustion and quit for small short-term gains!
